Shoddy Quality for a Workplace Computer
High hopes and disappointmentThe MFC 5440CN purported to have all of the features I could want: networked scanning, faxing, and printing at an affordable price. And I could even use it on my Linux system thanks to the drivers from Brother. My hope in this product has been steadily diminished. The scanning still does not work in Linux. Since upgrading the firmware on board, I have lost scanning functionality even in Windows XP. The ink runs out QUICKLY. I run multiple cleaning cycles just to make print-outs legible. Often, entire lines do not print, and the lines that do print have terrible white lines running through the text. If you prefer to spend time using the product rather than troubleshooting it, do not buy this product.
Works as advertisedI purchased this to replace my MFC420CN. It works pretty much the same way and uses the same ink. My MFC420CN lasted only one year and three months. The printhead belt came off the sprockets and I had to open the machine to put it back. Unfortunately the black ink stopped working afterwards. I hope the belt does not come loose on this printer.

actual case is much BIGGER than it seems in the picturei was looking for a small, sleek case for my friend's coolpix P1. the other grey case that amazon has for the P1 looked too bulky for my taste, with the flap posket on the front. some other website (not amazon) had listed this black case as one that would fit a P1. HA! when it came, i was shocked to discover that it was twice the size i'd expected. the material seemed quality (i like neoprene for protecting electronics), and it's a simple camera case. if it was smaller, it would have been perfect. so for anyone looking for a case for a camera anywhere in the size range of a P1, this one is way too big (unless you want one that's twice the camera's size) no matter what the pic may look like or other websites may claim.
Not a lot of featuresThe picture of the case is definately not the one that you will receive. It is black.
The case is okay. It is very small and does not have a whole lot of bells and whistles. It simply has one small pocket that you may be able to get two backup batteries in. Also, there is no strap. There is only a velcro type hook thing that you can use to attach the case to a belt or the strap of a pocket book.
I checked out cases in the stores and this is about as good as it gets.

Product not the same as the photoOkay, Nikon's case for the Coolpix S4 is really not the one pictured above or on Nikon's website. They have changed designs to a black neophrene case with zippers. It's a good case, nonetheless. Just be aware you WILL NOT be getting the case pictured above if you order this item.

ink runs out too fastThe ink runs out before the 40 sheets are used. Usually it only runs out at 38 or 39 but a couple times now I've had it run out at 30! I have like 20 extra sheets now and I've never found a place where you can buy just the ink so I just have extra paper and no way to use them. The quality of the printed pictures is good though. The convenience of printing my own pictures at home is nice as well but with the ink running out too quickly the cost of each picture goes up quite a bit. Amazon was very good to work with on this problem though.
works greatThis is one of the better deals I have found for my at home printing needs. I have searched all over, and have not found this product anywhere else for a better price.
Media CartridgeI am very pleased with this product. I have an easyshare printer and camera and the pics are great. I like the fact that I know exactly how many photos I can print and not just get a low ink cartridge warning. The price Amazon offers even with shipping far outweighs that in store bought development.

Better than expected!I ordered these binoculars for my husband's birthday. They arrived promptly and in excellent condition; well packed. We both were surprised by how powerful they are and easy to use, WOW! Very, very pleased. They are very light weight (nice for these old arthritic arms and hands). The only possible drawback is that they are not waterproof and need to be kept dry at all times, so DH will not be able to take them along on fishing trips unless he double zipper lock bags them.
BEST FOR EVERY NEEDS~!Oh my god~! This binoculars are AMAZING~! Nikon JAPAN did it AGAIN~!!! I travel all over the world, I attend all sorts of sports event, Nature Watch, and do some SPY work~! I have looked over 300 type and kind of Binoculars, and I FINALLY found this one~!! and bought it for $70 for Sale. It is even BETTER design then the previous model, very light weight, Ease of Use, Compact that fit in my pocket, and POSWERFUL enough to see Galaxy in the sky. I was little concerned if I would loose the Light as you power up the zoom, NOT SO~!!!! If you want ALL round binoculars that are made with QUALITY and right PRICE, this is THE ONE.
A very good choice.I have bought a couple of binoculars in the past. Always thinking the higher magnification was better. That's not always true as keeping the object steady at 10 and higher with your hands is tough. The higher mags also suck up light making the image darker. Now I have an Eagleview Zoom and don't worry which model I should have chosen. For the most part it stays at 8 but when I really need to get close the zoom is great. The turn and slide eyecups are a fine feature.
Love 'em.
Love 'em.

A Very Good ProductI bought this product about a month ago. So far it has been very useful and behaving very well. When I travel, I bring it with me to store digital photos. It transfer files very fast from memory card to the hard drive. The only drawback is that you can not view photos on it (you have to pay a lot more for this feature). It can be used as a card reader. At home, I simply use it as an external hard drive for my computer. It's great! It is just as quiet as my Western Digital external hard drives.

Great Pictures - but which side is which? After much research and shopping around, I bought an i9900 last month. I have been extremely happy with the picture quality and the speed of the printer. I learned with my last printer the value of using original equipment manufacturer supplies - the picture quality is so much better on Canon paper/ink in the Canon printer. This was my first foray into the matte finish, and my only complaint is that I have a HARD time determining the print side of this paper. The printed pictures are outstanding nonetheless.
Smudge-Free Pictures!I've used Canon Matte Photo paper for years in my Canon S900 printer. The pictures are stunning! One of the best features is that the pictures are easy to view because they are completely flat finish yet retain all the resolution your digital image can provide. Using Canon's Easy-Photo printing program with the Matte Paper presets makes printing a breeze. Water will still smudge the print but fingerprints do not show and my oldest prints retain their excellent colors.
Ecxelent paperI guess some people presume that photograph should look shiny and glossy all over. Non for everyone. I like matte finish. Also it's has much more longevity-if you touch it with your sweat fingers it won't smudge as gloosy prints. To anyone who hates matte appearence I will recomend to visit museum with picture gallery. Do you see lots of shine there? No. Glossy print may appear to be sharper-but it's only appearence. Do take your picture in good focus and you'll have exelent results no matter what paper matte or glossy. This paper is not waste of money-as a matter of fact, you save bunch of it buying this paper over glossy. Higly reccomend.

Card locked after 3 uses. Card locked after 3 uses. Can't get it to unlock. If anyone has any tips please let me.
it works under pressure ... but it is not a speed champ.I got a CANON S2 IS, which stores high res video with a high datarate (640x480, 30fps with 44.1Khz stereo audio) flawlessly inside this SD card. Reading is just as good.
It is safe to say it will perform just right with the Canon s3 is (which has the same save / read bandwidth requirements.
Kingston says that this card can read data up to 8.2Mb per second and write data up to 7.7Mb per second in their webpage.

Visible Dust Hurricane Blower
Made by Visible Dust
Amazon base price: $
Average review score:

great little toolThis is something great to blow of the CCD sensor after a day of shooting with a dSLR. Every time I change lenses some dust gets in the way. To check- shoot at a blue sky at f/22 then review your photo on a computer, perhaps with the contrast bumped up w/ image editing software like PS. After comparing the before and after shots after I'd used this handy little thing I haven't taken it out of my bag. Basically, it can't be used too much in the field, since leaving the lens off the camera body while blowing away just lets more dust in. But inside w/ low dust around it works great. This can help your shots stay clearer with fewer spots on images in the long run. It still doesn't take the place of a regular pro sensor clean though, which I would do about once every 6 mo, or if this little blower isn't taking any particularly noticeable spots out of the images. I've also used it to clear out some of the hard to reach back glass elements on my lenses too.
Let the wind blow ...The Visible Dust Hurricane Blower is an excellent buy and it works great. Goodbye dust.

Quick, simple, reliableI have never used a GPS before. I cannot give you the elaborate comparisons or insights that others will provide. I purchased this system and began to use it 5 days ago. I love it. It found the satellite in less than a minute and has consistently done so. I live in a rural area with many tree covered roads. I own a sirius radio receiver and, from time to time, momentarily lose the signal. This has not happened thus far with the c530. The touch screen is extremely easy to use and the questioning system is a breeze. I have used it two times to drive over an hour from home to places I've never been and it has been stress free and spot on. I honestly don't care about finding businesses, restaurants, hotels, etc. Maybe I will in time, but I'm just too new at it now. I bought it to stop the aggravation of getting lost and the flaws of depending on mapquest. I am completely satisfied and have no regrets at all. The voice directions are clear and given in plenty of time to make the turns. The estimated arrival times are accurate within one minute, and recalculation if you choose a different path are immediate. I'm someone who didn't want a lot of bells and whistles, but I also wanted something very simple to use. There may be better ones out there, but I am very satisfied with my purchase.
Check how features differ from c550 and c340I was pleased to try out the C530 today when I received it and happy with it's overall performance, but am stumped as to why Garmin would leave out the ability to announce street names in the directions like the previous model c340. I would consider that part of the core software and part of all future and more expensive models. I was very disapointed to find that my c530 lacks this ability though.
After playing with the c530 some more I became even more disappointed when I realized that it lacks many, many points of interest that are on the c320,c330 models. I'm not sure what map set the c340 has, but the c530 has a different map set and the c320 and c330. I was surprised to find that the largest and most popular movie theatres were not listed on the c530 and I know they are listed in the c320 which had version 6 mapsets (the c320/c330 mapsets are now to version 7 released June 2005 to give you an idea how old they are). Since the c530 is a brand new product, you would think that the maps would be the most current and up to date and they appear to be the current version of the associated mapset, but it is missing many major businesses and the ones I do find sometimes haven't existed for more than 5 years. They have to be able to do better than this
I'm finding it probably wasn't worth spending the extra money, but will check with Garmin first to see if they can provide a different set of mapsets.

It suffers from constant paper jams, apparently both because of proximity of the paper feed to the output tray, and (more frequently) in the feed mechanism at the back. Even after the paper is removed, the printer generally dos not recognize the jam is cleared and must be power cycled to reset it (and before cycling, to wait several minutes for the print head to reset itself into idle mode).
The print head also jammed several times, these jams necesitating the replacement of the unit. Customer service at Brother replaced our unit both times, but only after a process considerably more laborious than my experiences with other printer manufacturers (ie Epson and HP).
When working, the printer was a great buy for the price, with easy-to-use controls and out-of-the-box functionality. However, its various problems disabled it such a large amount of the time that these benefits were overshadowed.
If you're looking for a low-end all-in-one machine that you'll be using fairly heavily, look elsewhere. We've had better luck with sheet-fed HPs, which seem to jam considerably less.
