You be the judge...I bought this for Christmas and during the first movie i played it froze up in the middle of it. Eventually i got it to play and thought it was just the disc. A week or so later while watching another movie it froze up during that movie as well. Moral of the story, i have been able to get this to play a complete movie without stopping but it still freezes up at random times and will not work. I wouldn't buy this player. There are way too many others to chose from. You'd be better off giving the money away, than throwing it away.
WITHOUT THE CONTROL YOU ARE DEADI bought this DVD 1 year ago and worked fine until the death of the remote control. Everything is controled by the remote as the dvd it self has only 4 buttons (power, eject, play and stop)
I havent foud yet a universal control that works with this unit, if you know about any control that could work with it please post it !!! many thanks in advance on behalf of my kid

Deteriorating QualityI bought a 640 about three months ago. At first I was very happy with the quality, battery life and comfort. After the first month the battery life shortened to where I could not get three hours of talk time a day after a full 12 hour charge. The connection between the ear peace and the headset began to loosing and no longer hold its position in your ear.
I called and requested a replacement and Plantronics was very quick to overnight me a new one.
I've now had the new on for about a months and signs of deteriorating quality have begun. I just called plantronics and they are sending me a Voyager 510. Quite a bit bigger than the 640 but maybe I can talk for more than three hours. If I have any issues with the 510 I think my Plantronic days are over.

a couple of problems make this a so-so headsetPros: It's small, and it has a cool system for charging either from the wall or from a battery for on the go. It usually connects well with my treo 650
Cons: Sound quality isn't that great (it always sounds like someone is crinkling up cellophane in the background). The receptacle that the headset sits in when charging is poorly designed, it is constantly falling out because the socket on the headset doesn't securely sit in the plug in the carrying receptacle. Even when it's just sitting there recharging it will pop out. I'm surprised that this poor socket design passed their tests

Nice Headset - Difficult to Manager I went through several bluetooth headsets before I tried the Discovery 640. The performance of the headset is above average, clear sound and good noise cancellation. The small size of the headset and loose earpiece caused me to drop the headset on many occasions.
The headset is very loose in the charging base, which doubles as the carrying aparatus, and is intended to fit in your shirt pocket like a pen. The length of the charging base is 2.25 inches, far shorter than any pocket I have, meaning the unit 'dangles' at the midpoint. I found the unit shifted constanty in my pocket and the headset would fall out, and when charging the headset was so loose in the charging base that I had to prop the headset/charge base upside down to attain good contact and get the unit charged.
Overall, I was happy with the performance of the headset while talking on the phone. However, the loose fit, loose connection at the ear piece, difficulty charging, and constant dropping of the headset caused me to seek other alternatives. In environments where you are not moving around with the headset, some of these issues may not be a problem. I'm sure results vary based on how its used, but that was my experience.

GOOD FOR PRICE! BAD FOR MOVEMENT!For the price they were, these headphones are very good. They fit well and eliminate the outside noise well enough when traveling in the car with my family. The only complaint is that they easily fall out when working outside or when excersising. I bought them because I thought that the form fitting tight snug would stay in my ear, but I was wrong. They fall out when sweaty because their made of the plasticy waxy materials. Other than that, they are great headphones.
Nice. Great price. Sound good. Comfortable. They're comfortable and sound good and I haven't noticed the lack of treble that I read in someone's review, though I'm no kind of sound expert either. They're not as inconspicuous as I had hope for, but they don't hurt my ears like like the older earbud style and they block alot of external sound. Like wearing earplugsI've gotten several complaints because I didn't respond to someone trying to talk to me unless I could see them.
OverachieverThese are one of the best earphones for the price. I needed something small with a good price / performance ratio for my laptop. Currently while typing this I cannot hear the keys of my laptop going clickity click.
Being a Biomedical engineer and an audiophile I am very conscious of hearing loss so i listen to my music at the lowest volume at any given time. The slow expanding foam is wonderful and blocks background noise wonderfully. Since frequency response is from 10 - 20k, a very cheap or emulated sound card will produce a hum, but that is a fault of the sound card/device not these earphones.
Pros
-Best price/performance ratio
-Blocks out background noise better than some other head/earphones (including a noise cancelling one)
-Beautiful reproduction of lows, mids and highs
-High and low pitched voice is clearly reproduced
Cons
-Cord could have a foot or two longer

Great and useful but beware if you want to buy this product in other countries. If you see this product in your country, check if it is the same model (even if they say BC-TRP). The Argentina version comes with an AC cable instead of foldable plug. If you want to save place in your bag, better get the USA version and an adapter for the plug otherwise you have to carry the cable.
The same happens with model BC-TR1.

No more fumbling over power cords! As a new owner of a Sony Handycam 26 this was a must have accessory! NO cords, just plug directly into the wall and have it readily accessible the next time you need a powered up battery. The unit is no bigger than one of those plug in air freshners, it stands flush to the wall and has a ready light easily visible. The swivel prong plugs are super feature if you are using the bottom outlet for something else and need to swivel the unit sideways instead of up and down. The prong plugs also fold flush with the unit when not is use! This helps to make the unit even more compact and also no sticking out prongs to scratch the covers of your mini DV's or camera itself! The charger stores super easy because there's no cord to wind or bulk up in your travel bag! YEAH! Super design, super compact, and easy to use.

Cheap InsuranceHaving read all the debate on whether or not this intercooler helps or not, I went ahead and purchased it anyway. My logic was that it's inexpensive enough that I wouldn't be too upset if it didn't do anything. Installation is very easy, and I haven't had any problems with it at all since I started using it (about 5 weeks now). It's definitely a little louder, but I barely notice it. It does seem like my 360 runs cooler now, so as far as I can tell it's doing its job. If you're worried at all about your 360 running hot, or you're into marathon gaming sessions, then I'd personally suggest you pick one of these up. Considering how much you've probably spent on your system and accessories, another few dollars for a fan really doesn't amount to much.
Good I think? It works and keeps temp.down really it does keep my temp.Down 26 degress. (did a test.)Easy to use and price is just great to keep your $300-$400 system running forever.I can watch movies and play games all day and not worry.Like is easy to use and cheap.Only thing it freezed 3 times on me?
Is this necessary?I purchased the Intercooler the same day that I bought my 360 in an attempt to fight the well known issue of overheating. Being that I live in Arizona I thought that this counter measure would extend the life of my console.
The device is a simple to use attachment that sits direcctly between the power cord and te console and acts as a conduit taking very little power. The Intercooler is held in place by two small plastic hooks that will snap off and go god knows where. The device uses three small fans to force air OUT of the console and tends to sound like a jet engine in the process.
The Intercooler will prevent your Wireless adapter from clicking into place since the snug fit will depress the button at all times.
The device has a switch on it that allows you to turn off the Intercooler while leaving the system active... Don't ever turn off the intercooler since it will back up the heat that the 360's fans are trying to remove.
I used the intercooler for about two months and decided to take it off because of the noise. So far I have yet to see my console freeze due to overheating without the Intercooler in Arizona.
But even though I've stated a lot of flaws the Intercooler does remove a lot of hot air.
If you have an overheating issue then try this out as a fix.
If you don't then save that $20 for one of the overpriced games.
Good luck.

Good OneI bought this hard disc with lot of doubts(suspecion) in my mind. I am a computer architecture engg, so I know the tech stuff well. I bought simple tech 250 Gb one. There are few things I need to list out.
1)Its plug and play type.. u dont need any additional s/w..
Actually I didnt get the s/w they are supposed to ship with the Hard drive. But never mind I never wanted it.so, I didnt went after it.
2)The product is poorly ventilated.. but because of the aluminiun casing the heat dessipation is good...
3)In many reviews i read it make lot of noise.. but mine make less noise than my SONY vaio desk top. May be because I kept it in front of air condition vent in my appartment.
4)One important thing when u buy hard disk of above 150gb make sure that U have a RAM of atleast 512 mb..Coz, other wise u r computer may hang frequently.. but that is normal..as u r computer need RAM to map the memory cells in the hard disk..
5)at this price this hard disc is worth buying..

SimpleTech SimpleDrive 250Very quiet, sleek and fast. Others have complained that the led light meaning 'busy' was too hard to see, well, they must have been blind, the light is very well noticable. I can hardly hear it while it runs, in fact it is quiter than my laptop. I do not and will not use the accompanying auto backup software, it seems similar software has caused problems for other external hard drives. To further safeguard it, I disable the network connection when I use the device and leave it turned off when not in use. I also plug it into a surge protector with multiple power switches and I leave the switch off to the SimpleDrive 250 to isolate it from electricity all together.
It moves gigs of data very quickly, faster than some shared drives on the company's LAN where I work.
I'm very pleased!

The worst DVDs I have tried so farI have used three other brands of 16x DVD-Rs and none of them have been problematic with my new (Tivo) dvd burner. This is the first brand that just hasn't worked. These discs were a waste of time shopping for, they were a waste of time dealing with failed burns, and they were a waste of money. I am not even going to attempt to sell the unopened package in the Amazon marketplace since it wouldn't be fair to other buyers. For your information, I have had no problem with Sony, Fuji, and Verbatim.
The worst brand I've tried.I've got a LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1673S burner (Revision JS02) in my fast G4 Mac running OS X Tiger and burning with Toast Titanium 7. Although my burner is nominally 16X-capable, it only burns at about 6X in my setup, probably due to the slow (ATA 33) bus it's on.
I've used a number of different brands of 8X and 16X disks, both +R and -R, and have had a verification failure rate of less than 2% -- so few, in fact, that I often don't bother verifying video DVD's anymore when burning TDK or Maxell discs. (I always verify data DVD's, since errors in those are not ignorable.) But with Memorex, I've gotten about 20% failures, including a couple of aborted burns! In one case, the disc had a blank band between two burned ones!
The Memorex discs I'm referring to have Manufacturer ID "CMC MAG, AM3". According to videohelp.com, these are sold under at least 7 different brand names. The reviews there are rather mixed, which is not IMHO good enough!
I have not, BTW, have had any problems with the Memorex DVD+R discs I've tried. But I stopped using them because one of my players won't recognize the +R format.

What a great monitor!I bought this monitor for the price. However, it as been a really great monitor. It was easy to set up, great color, and no dead pixals. This is my first LCD monitor. But when I need a new one or buying for that old computer that I let my grandkids play with. I'll think about buying another Viewsonic first!
Too good. Buy it TODAYThis monitor is marvellous. Very easy to install. Comes with a free DVI cable, no hassle setup. It has all the bells and whistles that you would look for in a perfect monitor.
The colors are too good. Brightness is perfect. The stand is adjustable according to your viewing preferences. You can watch DVD movies in actual wide-screen format because this monitor has an aspect ratio of 16:10. You will only see a small rectangular bar on the top and bottom when watching DVDs programmed in 16:9 ratio. 8 millisecond response time renders smooth videos.
Active TFT display means you can watch it from any angle in your living room. I watch it even at 70 degree angles and it looks good enough.
The black finish adds elegance to your room. The power transformer (to convert 120 or 250 volts to 12 volts) is built inside the monitor. So you won't see ugly cables outside. The monitor cable to connect to your computer is also neatly tucked inside the monitor's casing.
To enjoy the monitor to the fullest extent, you need a good video card that supports 1940 X 1024 resolution and has a DVI output. If your computer has DVI output, make sure you connect the monitor using the DVI cable provided. The output is impeccable when using DVI signal. Even VGA signal is not bad, but DVI is too good.
The monitor has built in speakers. But I would suggest not to depend on this feature. The speakers are ok for web-chatting, VOIP calls, etc. But when watching DVD or listening to audio, you may want to go for external speakers and not depend on the speakers this monitor provides. Also if you turn on the speaker to full volume, the monitor sometimes flickers. Reason is both monitor and speakers are using the same power source and the power source may not be able to support the extra wattage required when the speakers are at the maximum sound level.
In summary, do go for this monitor TODAY. Don't wait an extra day. You will love your purchase.
Please don't go for the ACER monitors that are available for the same price. They don't have all the features that are available in this monitor. Also make sure you shop around for the best prices. This monitor is the best selling monitor of 2006. Hence lot of online sites are offering very competitive prices.
Enjoy

Sony DRU-810Ait does not allow me to view the movie on my pc after burning, though i can see it on a stand alone dvd player. does it have some kind of secret thing to know? i cannot review the product favorably as long as i cannot fully use it.
Sony = LiteOnTo Kyle Parkin "Shadow", you said you don't recommend buying LiteOn. I have two Sony DVD burners (DW-D18a) and BOTH are actually re-badged LiteOns (as are most Sony drives). Just an FYI. My Sony DVD burners treated me quite well and I imagine this one will do the same.
The model is fine. I make DVDs for my school, before this I had a Lite-on dvd burner which couldn't read cds. Then I bought a Magicspin which couldn't use DVDs. I finally bought this sony. It works fine for my needs. It makes about 15 DVDs in 20 mins. So I recomend Sony. Ans suggest not buying Magicspin and Lite-on. Unless you plan to have a dream team and have both in your PC. One to burn DVDs and one to burn CDs

Great DVD mediaI have burned over 100 of these in the past 6 months, I have only had 1 burn badly. Haven't found a dvd player yet that they won't play in.
Memorex 16X DVD+RI have never had any problem with these discs. While I will go with other brands IF price requires it, the Memorex are my first choice. I do wish they made a LightScribe version.
Why Pay More!?This DVD burning isn't as cut and dried as some would like you to believe. However, just because you get a bad burn doesn't mean it is the discs. There is a whole bunch of stuff going on in your computer that can affect the burn.
I have a Dell 1.2 ghz, with a Lite-On 8x drive, running Nero 6 OEM. Pretty generic, but these Memorex 8x and now 16x discs burn just fine. In fact, I have burnt about 6-800 of these discs and have had very few fall-outs. Not enough to justify buying the "better" quality discs.
Now for the caveat: I did have one spate of problems, caused by a not so well behaved antivirus program. I tossed out the antivirus program and went over to Avast!(it's free, check with Microsoft). Problem solved even though I run Winamp and a logging environmental sampling program while burning discs.
We burn hundreds of discs for a hospital lecture series. They are being played on all sorts of equipment, including some pretty banged up junk. So far I have not received one complaint about the discs only suggestions about the content.
Before you spend big bucks on some "better" disc, pop up your task manager in XP and see if there is some runaway task that needs some discipline. Also, if you must run "better" discs then do a surface test in Nero. I bet the "better" disc will look very close to failure if the Memorex failed.
