Worst printer I've ever used (software is horrible too!)
This is an abomination! I had to return my first WorkCentre because the copier didn't work. They sent me another one and every now and then it goes into a loud "HUMMMMM" mode in which it won't print or shut up (it needs to be turned off for a few minutes to cool down). 'E1' errors abound all the time, forcing you to reload paper on average of every 5 print/copy jobs even though there is no paper jam.

On top of all this, the software driver acts also as a printer monitor which takes up significant system resources. The worst thing about this is when you print, or if the printer is shared and somebody else prints, there is a huge lag depending on the size of the print job, rendering the OS unusable until the printjob is completely sent to the printer. So basically, you can't use your computer for a minute or so after you hit the print button.

In short this is a very bad choice. Others I know purchased the HP printer/scanner/copier/fax and have had much better experiences.

Plagued With Issues
I don't have enough time to list all the problems that I've had with this unit. I wouldn't have another one even it it was free.

Great but Beware!
This machine is everything I want in a single machine and easily fits in my home office. Great quality! However, this machine will not scan if you have an AMD processor found in high-end Compaqs such as mine. So beware of that since the company does not mention that in any literature.

Something Missing "Like Quality"
When I first bought this scanner, I thought it was one of the best for the money. The scans were fairly quick till you scanned at 300 dpi and more. It was easy to install, and the software was based for an intermediate user. A few bells and whisiles. But four months after using the scanner, It started to slow down, and eventually went from one scan every 40 sec. to one scan every 15 minutes. HP was no help, they led me to correct the problem that did nothing but cause conflicts and lock-ups. Not to mention there are no drivers to be found for the 6200 series scanners. So just please be careful. I suggest you don't buy this scanner at all.

USB Version Works Just Fine
Having had SCSI problems in the past, I vowed never again to confront this monster.

Enter USB. So far everthing that I have connected to my Dell P2 450mh functions as hoped for (2 HP Scanners & 1 Sony CD-ROM burner).

If you don't have a USB port, then it is to your benefit and sanity to upgrade if you can.

Great scanner for the digital enthusiast
I purchased the 6250Cxi as a backup scanner for the Agfa DuoScan I currently own. Upon opening the package, I was impressed with the software and components included. SCSI setup was a breeze, and I recommend having a very good SCSI adapter (I have an Adaptec 2640UI ~$299) if you want to use this scanner to the best of its ability. In addition, I tried the USB features, and like the SCSI, there were no problems. The software packages are great, and unlike HP's previous attempts at TWAIN interfaces, this scanner interfaces well with Photoshop, QuarkXPress, InDesign and Illustrator, the programs I rely on most often. If you are a graphic enthusiast, or someone who is looking for a scanner that is one step above the rest (under $400), consider this one or it's less-equipped (no feeder) brother, the 6200C. If, however, you require a scanner that does slides, I'd recommend an Agfa DuoScan with a slide tray. The 6250's prism adapter is good, but not worthy of too much praise.

        Worthless
This printer/scanner/fax is dual-platform (PC/Mac) and has separate software programs to run it. This was given to me as a gift from friends to go with my new iMac. So far it has not failed to disappoint in every aspect: the software is confusing and sometimes undecipherable; faxing is a major chore involving several complex steps; copies look faint and smudged; scanning is poor. This may be simpler on what appears to be a more user-friendly interface for Windows, but I doubt it. I can't wait to junk the thing and get a separate printer and scanner.

        Stylus Scan 2000
This all in one may not be the best, but it is still very good. The software is complete and not hard to use. The color printing is excellent. The only drawback is that it is really not a good photo printer. I have had very good luck with this all in one.

        Stylus scan 2000
This machine is not as bad as the previous reviewer would lead one to believe. The software is easy to use on my PC and the scanning is not the best, but I I find to be very good. The printing is solid, but for photo printing you would do better with a higher end machine. All in all, for an all in one this Epson is a good buy.
