Received from Amazon. Speaker pops while on. Absolutley NO customer support unless you speak Indian. Trying to make me send it back AND pay shipping. Amazon is no help.

Fantastic TV.....Do NOT pass this one by
I love this TV. Not only is the price great, the picture is one of the best I have seen. The over the air tuner is excellent and picks up both digital and analog signals with ease.

There are plenty of input options including HDMI and component. Use HDMI if you can as it adds pop to a digital signal. I tested this TV with a Directv HD Tivo and the new Dish Network 622vip HD DVR. Both were stunning.

The TV has lots of tuning options and features. The only thing to watch out for is the newness and lack of remote support. The Dish Network remote did not recognize it. Looks like a Harmony remote is in order.

The Best Entry Level HD LCD TV
I have had this TV for about a month now and I love it.
I did a fair amount of research before purchasing (I mean $750 is alot of money to me... can't quite swing the $1,400+ for the sony, etc... -- and even if I could I don't think I care about the incremental picture quality that much). The previous model was liked by most and this one competes very well with the rest of the entry level market. It has a good set of inputs (component, composite, VGA, HDMI ....) [I wish it had two HDMI ports, but 1 works just fine].
I use this in my office for TV and computer montior and it works great! One very nice feature is the PIP, where I can work on the computer and watch/listen to TV in the PIP (sizable, moveable, split screen as well).
If you are looking for a great entry level LCD HDTV, I highly recommend this one. IT IS HD ready (built in tuner), not just HD capable.

Excellent cable, got rid of interference caused by EMI/RFI
I have a 21 inch Mitsubishi DimondPro 2070 monitor.
I was having slight problems with portions of the picture jittering as if there was some sort of Electromagnetic interference.

I bought this SVGA cable and have been using it for a month. The jittering and interference has gone away completely. The cable itself is Quad shielded and it delivers EXCELLENT color and definition on any resolution. This is the SVGA cable to get for the best performance from a CRT Computer monitor.

Great shape... but just so-so quality.
I bought this item because the price was right and the features were what I was looking for, but I can't say I'm really wow'd by it. I probably should've sent it back, but I'd already tossed the box by time I realized it really wasn't that great of a machine.

I love the sleek fit... it's thin, fits very well under my cabinet, and the swivel of the TV is perfect. But the sound quailty is a bit tinny... and sometimes you hear a bit of that vibrating rattle sound when the volume is turned up a little loud.

The picture is really iffy as well. It's clear, and I like that the bright/contrast/color controls are handy on the side of the screen, but I've found it hard to get all three adjusted just right. Picture always seems a little too dark or over-exposed looking... and as is typical with LCD I suppose, you really gotta be looking at it at just the right angle to see a clear, properly lit picture.

Overall, for the money it'll work out okay. But I'm wishing I'd waiting till I could afford a higher quality product.

Excellent Set
I have had mine since January 2006. No problems at all. We had planned to buy an HD Plasma, but when I saw this one I was blown away. This set is EDTV, not HDTV. In the store this set was on the same channel as the HD's were on. The Signal was in HD (must point that out) and this EDTV dominated the room. I could not see spending more money on a smaller TV with a less impressive picture. For the hose heads out there, 480p IS considered HD. Can you recieve 480p on a standard def tv? No, you cannot. 480p displays twice the detail as 480i (standard).
Pros: ***Cost verses HD of the same size
***Unbelieveable Picture. Looks equal to or better than most HD sets. Including Sony, JVC and Mitsubishi.
***Large, but not too imposing
***Very easy to use remote
Cons: ***Limited connections in the back
***Somewhat hard to find instock

I don't have any complaints about this product. I would buy another just like if I had the need to do so. Check this TV out before making a purchase. You might find yourself pleased, and saving a ton of cash.

Incredible Picture! Thoroughly satisfied.
The picture quality of this EDTV is unbelievable. I purchased this after extensive research and in-store comparisons. When placed next to a true HDTV with identical content, this TV looked deeper, clearer, and more vivid. I have very discerning tastes and am not easily impressed, but I must tell you, this EDTV easily holds it's grounds with top tier HDTV's. DVD's were absolutely awesome. I picked this because it fit right into my budget and had the picture that I desired. I had a 42" ESA Pasma EDTV before this one and I gotta tell you, the difference is like comparing a yugo to a 2006 porsche. For an EDTV, this is the best available, hands down. I would swear it was true HD. I highly recommend this set. This Panasonic ED is better than most other companies top HD's.

All is well till the DLP lamp pops after 45 days.
I bought my TV in April 2006 and it has a beautiful picture. I added an X-box 360 and was even more pleased with my decision to get a 1080p television. Yesterday I was watching a show and I heard a loud "POP", then my picture went blank. As it turns out the Toshiba representitive had me do minor surgery on my TV to remove a lamp unit that had gone out way before it's time. They say you should get anywhere from 6000 - 8000 hours of life per bulb, but I can assure you that I barely got to 400 before it popped. Now they are honoring the warranty and sending a replacement unit and I am pleased that at least the turnaround is quick, but I wished I had known of the problems they had with some of these particular models. The Toshiba representitive said that they had a small glitch in the lamp units for this model and would be sending me the "New and Improved" lamp to replace my old one. So in closing I just want to say that if you choose to go with this model TV make sure to register online ASAP and if offered buy an extended warranty.
I hope this was helpful.

A five star Product
I spent six months researching the many different types of technologies and HD televisions available for my Home Theatre before deciding on this unit. NO REGRETS.
My digital satellite receiver primarily only delivers 480i and despite this the picture is outstanding, crisp and clear no distortion even when standing close. I rely on terrestial HD channels and the unit easily programmed both the ASTC and NSTC tuners. The 1080i and 720p channels are incredible. When just listening to music I input a flash card with my vacation photos, in Jpeg format, and watch the slide show, one of many great feature.
I narrowed down my choices to this unit and the Sony 50" XBR. You have to understand I currently own six Sony televisions. I cannot say this television surpasses the XBR but is certainly it's equal without spending those extra thousands. This is the second HD Toshiba I have purchased and am glad I did the research before just defaulting to the top Sony unit as I have done in the past.
A word of caution, this unit has a resolution of 1080x1920, the key feature TalenX technology. Toshiba has a number of units with similar model numbers most of which do not have this technology.
This television rounds out my home theatre and my wife, a true sceptic, reluctantly admits my home theatre investment was well worth the price.

Toshiba 56hm195 crystal clear HD and DVD, made in USA
I have been through a few HDTVs untill I finally stuck with this solid set. I had the Samsung 1080 but standard channels were horrible, the same held true with a Mitsubishi 720p untill I finally picked the Toshiba 56hm195. The HD channels are spectacular (even throiugh cable box) and regular analog channels look very good. The only thing I really knew about Toshiba was that they made a ton of medical equipment and have made big screen TVs for the longer then most do. After checking out the TV through online reviews (high scores with consumer reports, product of the year with several publications )and spec sheeets this TV offered the better over all picture quality on all types of signals. I use a Sony upscale DVD player and the picture quality is very near HD (Of course using good quality DVDs). I run my home theater through my Yamaha system with JBL speakers and there is no lip sync problems at all. I have noticed a few rainbows with are smaller then the mitsubishi rainbows. This set offers all the inputs you need. There are a few things this set doesnt have, like individual color control, but Toshiba doent put alot of bells and whistles to keep the coast down to make the sets very affordable. When you switch inpts,i.e. hmdi to componant, this set remembers the color settings for each input. This is a good feature that samsung and mitsi did not offer, it prevents from constant playing with the color control. Highly recommended ! Even the guys at the TV store are happy I havent been back to complain.
